The strategy for the Omaka Landing Development is driven by a strong place-based identity - connecting the new with the old. The development is located on a former vineyard and productive landscape, and neighbours the Omaka Aerodrome and Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre; context that can be seen in the furniture, material and planting throughout the 18ha site. 

Designed to prioritise people, the development is defined by slow, tree-lined streets that connect two public reserves and the Taylor River walking and cycling trail. Stormwater is managed via an extensive swale system planted in native shrubs and grasses.
